VOICES: Poetry for the People Social Poet

VOICES: Poetry for the People is a collective of poets, musicians, visual artists, and organizers. Poetry for the People uses poetry as a vehicle of truth-telling and works to create a community where art is integral to social movement, education, and political engagement. The poetry workshop was formed in response to the need for counter-narratives in mainstream Miami, addressing issues of housing, migration, policing, mass incarceration, and gun violence.
Dream Defenders Member/Organizer

Dream Defenders is a civil rights organization that fights for social justice for Black and Brown communities in the state of FL. As a member of the Miami SquaDD, I assist with the coordination of statewide events, digital campaigns, member recruitment, retention, and base building.
