Projects
I was recently called to do a character photo shoot with a friend writing a screenplay who needed some mock-ups to continue his character exploration. Here are some shots from that shoot. I had fun playing the femme-fatale opposite some insanely talented people. I can’t wait to do more of this! Behind the lens or in front too!
SSLC Design Camp
As a former Teaching Artist with S.O.U.L.Sisters Leadership Collective, we gave our young people tools to see themselves as leaders. In a world that teaches young Black youth that they should be small and not take up space, we utilized art as a way to show our young people that they are as big and that they can be as powerful as they imagine themselves to be. In the Spring of 2020, we held a fashion design camp to teach them how to create a brand. We took them through week-long political education workshops and based on their knowledge of our political struggles and history they created socially-conscious designs for young organizers in their community. This video shows the culmination of that work.

The Artivists’ Room
I created this podcast in thought partnership with Donkeysaddle Projects, to be in conversation with the artists, musicians, organizers, and activists creating works that push our freedom movements to the forefront of today’s culture. Spanning across mediums and forms, The Artivists’ Room explores the lives and work of those whose creativity and passion lie in the intersection of art and activism.
